Human race is the best and finest creation of the driving and guiding forces of the Universe. The thinking ability to unimaginable heights, limitless determination to execute and incredible power to deduce make us superior creatures on our Planet in almost all respects. But the challenge is that only 8-10% of the total population of the world believe in the boundless power which is stored inside and can be harnessed and further nurtured to create wonders. They use the potential and gain edge over fellow mates and those who are breathing in the space of ignorance simply state that these humans are special, unusual, and truly gifted. However, they do not realize that every human being here is distinct and unique. The statement may sound clichéd but it holds valid, today and till the doomsday.

What is actually required is familiarization with the actual concept of being Human. H here stands for Horizon which simply implies that everyone may reach different horizons in their own sphere which gets decided and shaped depending upon their interests, inclinations, mindset, and several other primary factors. You may not be the President of a nation, but you may be the most successful and noted architect of the town. It depends upon the path you chose. What is to be seen here is the fact that everyone has her/his horizons to attain, hence no comparison shall be drawn. But what is required is to strive for the best in the chosen sphere.

Coming to the second letter U, it stands for Unique. We have our own skillset, abilities, pace of understanding and working, perceptions, approach and style. This simply yet strongly suggests that no human can be termed as superior or inferior. They are distinct and unique which is their real identity. Nurturing self is a different thing, but even then you stay unique. What you should do is do your best with a winsome smile on your face.

Every human is a magician and can do things truly magical. The letter M here stands for Magical. You have the ability and influence to do magic in whatever you do. Being a wizard who can achieve anything, you should set your horizons, widen it if wish to and when required and work in the best fashion keeping your uniqueness intact.

As we spoke about uniqueness, the letter A in Human stands for Ability. You may have a higher level of ability in understanding mathematical concepts but may not even derive chemical formula when it comes to Chemistry. The degree of ability varies at different fronts due to various parameters. If you have a strong interest in something closer to your heart, you will have higher level of ability or you will be able to develop it to self-satisfactory level. However, where the interest level is low or almost zilch, the ability does not work much and even it gets reduced when not put into much use.

You must never attempt to be artificial. You may pose yourself as some other kind of personality to the world, but you know the reality. Embrace it and stay natural for which letter N stands. It is great to nurture yourself, develop yourself, evolve yourself but staying natural adds a great deal to self-discovery. So, discover HUMAN in you and remember you are most unique and truly special. Thank God that we are Humans and let us religiously follow the concept of being Human in the most sincere and happy way in order to do complete justice to His splendid creation.

Procrastination

Multitasking takes away focus, increases procrastination!!

People often procrastinate for different reasons; one could be fear of failure. Evidence indicates that procrastination is associated with high levels of stress (Sirois, 2007).Procrastination often refers to the voluntary postponement of an unpleasant task, often against one’s better judgment (Steel, 2007).

We started to believe in the idea of multi tasking which is an illusion.

“People can’t multitask very well, and when people say they can, they’re deluding themselves,” said neuroscientist Earl Miller. And, he said, “The brain is very good at deluding itself.”

Miller, a Picower professor of neuroscience at MIT, says that for the most part, we simply can’t focus on more than one thing at a time. What we can do, he said, is shift our focus from one thing to the next with astonishing speed. “Switching from task to task, you think you’re actually paying attention to everything around you at the same time. But you’re actually not. “You’re not paying attention to one or two things simultaneously, but switching between them very rapidly.”

“Think about writing an e-mail and talking on the phone at the same time. Those things are nearly impossible to do at the same time”. You cannot focus on one while doing the other. That’s because of what’s called interference between the two tasks,” Miller said. “They both involve communicating via speech or the written word, and so there’s a lot of conflict between the two of them.”

Researchers say they can actually see the brain struggling. And now they’re trying to figure out the details of what’s going on.

How to get rid of Procrastination?

So first organize yourself and take it one by one. To become the person you want to, you got to do some unpleasant things. Once you start completing the tasks one by one you feel a sense of accomplishment and you will start to like it and the more you do, the easier it becomes day by day.

You are going to find that you have more time to do the things that you enjoy; your family, your friends, and your work. You feel more organized, honestly in control of your life; and you in fact will be. You will come to have a new sense of importance about yourself, knowing you are no longer a person who puts things off.

Being Grateful

As per Wikipedia: Gratitude, thankfulness, thanksgiving, or gratefulness, from the Latin word gratus ‘pleasing, thankful’, is a feeling of appreciation felt by and/or similar positive response shown by the recipient of kindness, gifts, help, favors, or other types of generosity, towards the giver of such gifts.

Gratitude is an emotion similar to appreciation that we are familiar with. But what we do not know is that gratitude plays an important role in shaping our lives and that gratitude is now becoming an important part of psychology research, and especially positive psychology research.

We believe in the profound saying, “Contentment is a treasure that is never exhausted “, has a great meaning. If you are not happy and satisfied with what you already have, if you are not grateful for the life you already are living, then no matter what you are chasing in life, once you get it you will still not feel fulfilled and peaceful.

I always tell my students: I don’t have a magic wand to help you get out of your jobs and land you in front of your dream house or in your private jet or on a beach. Having said that, YES I can help you create beautiful and everlasting days, where you can include these cherishing moments, in your lives more often to make you life more meaningful and purposeful and worth living.

Nervousness Vs Excitement

Mind doesn’t know the difference between anxiety and nervousness. So what label you give to your mind is what makes the difference, it’s a very similar emotion.

What are the emotions/ stimulus and signs for nervousness?

  • Your Heart Beat goes up
  • You visualize the future
  • Your hands get clammy

Now surprisingly this is the exact same thing that happens when you are excited to, you bet?

So the meaning we give to our thoughts is what we experience.

If you ever watched the athletes, they always say that I am excited, before or after the game. They trained their mind that the above three things are signs of excitement.

A research was done on two groups, one was trained to say I am excited and other one was trained to say I am nervous. Guess what the group that said I am excited out performed.

So the meanings we give to our thoughts are what make the difference. Good news is this is all learnt .So we can stop, pause and rewind our learning for a better meaningful life.

SALES – Why YOU?

In business the most common question is “Why should I buy from you”?

Even before you discuss what company you represent or your experience or your skills , the first thing the client/ customer /interview sees is you, hears is you and asks ”why you “

Influence happens in a second not in 30 minutes until you finish your presentation.

So do you have your key words in the first few seconds that will make or break the sale/interview?

How do you get into an instant rapport with whoever you meet?

The famous quote “if you are not taking care of your customer, your competitor will”

This simply means if they are not buying from you they are buying from someone else. So what will it take for them to buy from you?

As Tony Robbins says, “Best sales people are not trained they are found and then trained”.

Everything we do in life and business is only for 2 things,”The desire to avoid pain or to seek pleasure”.

This is what drives all human behavior. You can’t tell customers what to do.

You have to make them feel not buying is painful or they are missing out on something

Here is the five steps sales process for your sales success:

  1. Establish Rapport
  2. Ask Questions
  3. Find a Want before Need
  4. Link the need or value to your product or service
  5. Close

HUGGING

“Average length of a hug is 3 seconds. When a hug lasts 20 seconds, there is a therapeutic effect on the body and mind.

Did you know “Hugging is a great medicine”. It not only transfers energy but gives the person hugged an emotional lift too. Isn’t that great

Scientist says that hugging is a form of communication because it can say things you don’t have the words for. You need minimum four hugs a day for survival. Around eight hugs for maintenance and twelve for growth.

And nicest thing about a hug is that you usually can’t give one without getting one😊

Hugging for 20 seconds releases oxytocin, which can cause you to trust someone more

A hug lowers cortisol and norepinephrine to decrease stress.

Hugging is good for you in the following ways:

  • Lowers Blood Pressure
  • Lowers risk of heart diseases
  • Stress reduction
  • Fights fatigue
  • Boosts your immune system
  • Fights infections
  • Eases Depression

20 secs long releases the bonding hormone and neurotransmitter, oxytocin , which is nature’s antidepressant and anti anxiety hormone.

Hug if you want to live longer and healthier:

  • Hugging is the key to happiness – Leo Buscaglia
  • Hugs can make you feel psychological more secure
  • Touching releases endorphins (“the happy hormones”), which kills the pain and increase immunity to fight diseases
  • Lower Blood pressure
  • Boost Immune system – Positive feelings strengthen the blood’s immune system
  • Stress Relief: feeling stressed? Go give someone a squeeze.
  • Fear Reduction: Hugs helps soothe individuals’ existential fears.

These days people started to give “Free hugs “outside. Its good but what about the ones we stay with?

Start now. Hug them and say whatever you want to. It will make a world of difference for both.

Technology is both a blessing and a curse to the world.

Technology has eased our lives in many ways from being able to talk to anyone anywhere in the world to be able to know what’s happening in the world right now, to self learning and becoming a tech guru to becoming an online sensation overnight . However its excessive use has made us highly dependent upon it, causing us not only health hazards but also a miserable lifestyle.

We need to accept that technology is here to stay and there is no escape. Yes, the usage can be certainly limited for a long and healthy life.

Technology advancements in the customer experience field have massive drawbacks. In an effort to provide the best customer service in the shortest time, we are becoming more in-human. People lack patience today. Every things has to happen NOW or else a bad rating for the service provider.

Thank god people don’t hasten to grow up from a child to an adult overnight

Youth is the biggest victim of the technology today. They have internet friends, they don’t remember phone numbers any more, they don’t remember birthdays, and they don’t write letter or emails anymore to distant friends or family. Young kids are so badly addicted to the screens, phones, television that they don’t use their other senses to its fullest other than visual.

We are becoming more mechanical day by day. We are turning into robots the more we are advancing in technology. We are becoming inhuman & insensitive. We are becoming the generation of “I, ME , Myself “ and not WE any more.

Here are few tips we can try to use:

  1. Back to old days “ Early to bed and Early to rise” and 30-45 minutes exercise , walk or meditation/prayers
  2. Have one meal with the whole family on the dinner table or sitting area with gadgets in other room.
  3. Share how your day was with your parents , siblings , friends
  4. Read for an hour.
  5. Write down whatever comes to you mind. Need not be perfect, just has to come from your heart.
  6. Cut down on the time for mobile, TV, internet, laptops, Xbox, etc when at home and make time for painting, drawing , carrom board, chess, story time some indoor activities.
  7. Plant a tree. Experience the nature for the best health.
  8. Say as many times as possible to your loved ones – I Love you, Thank you, Sorry .
  9. Hug the family members whenever you see them
  10. Last but not the least. Add to your monthly to do list, to take your kids to orphanage, old age homes, etc to help them give their good things to the ones who needs them badly. This will not only make them generous/humble but also grateful/thankful for the smallest and biggest blessings they have by default in their lives.
